All right, as you can very obviously see I have let this blog fall into disrepair. There has been all sorts of cool things going on lately and I haven't ever updated to share the awesomeness. I'm going to try to set things right with this blog and keep all of you, my lovely readers, up to date!
Awesome Events and Shoots!
Lets see, what have we missed? Events: Kitsap Saddle Club playdays from April, June and July, the Helix rodeo, PreFair, and the NBBA bull futurity in Redmond OR. I've also had several great portrait sessions (and more to come!). I'm not sure that I'll have a chance to blog about all of these awesome photo ops, but you can check out my proofs galleries to check out the photos!
New Newsletter!
I have started a monthly newsletter, mostly just for the fun of it! It includes a photo of the month, local events calender, rescue horse of the month, various fun tidbits of information (last issue was feed tips and a horse treat recipe!), and, of course, information on special deals available ONLY to subscribers! I'll post our first newsletter here as an example asap.
If you would like to be included in our mailing list Email Me with the subject "Newsletter Please!"
Moving??
Yes, its true, there is a strong possibility that I, along with my business, will be relocating to Monroe in the near future. What does this change for Kitsap residents? Well, not much. I will still be just as available for sessions and events in the Kitsap area, however travel fees will apply. If you already have your session scheduled with me, don't worry! You will not be charged any additional fees.
HINT: No travel fees for Kitsap residents when you book your shoot before our relocation! If you're in Kitsap and have been thinking about scheduling a session, now is the time!
There has been a lot of great things happening for Liz Stabbert Photography and I'm excited for the future as business continues to grow!

Fall Portrait Sale

There is no use in denying it any longer, the nights are getting colder, the days are getting shorter, the trees are turning from green to hues of gold and orange; fall is well on its way. As much as I'll miss summer, fall is a great time of year, especially for portraits! Fall trees make an excellent background and that beautiful evening light is coming earlier in the day.
To celebrate this great portrait season Liz Stabbert Photography is offering 20% off our call fee when you schedule you session before October 15t!
Contact me with any questions you might have or to set up a session!

JoAnne Freiboth Memorial Show
I had an absolute blast shooting last weekends JoAnne Freiboth Memorial Show at the Kitsap Fairgrounds! This event was an extra pleasure for me because back in my 4H days I got my first Blue ribbon at this show, then known as the Leaders Benefit. Special thanks to Erin for putting on such a great show, I cant wait until next year!

Aaarrg! Curse you internets!
Lately I have been plagued with the problem of my emails getting sent to the wrong address. My old email "liz@stabbert.org" was unreliable, only sending and receiving email when it was in the mood. Since I don't appreciate selectiveness in my important mail I transfered to liz@lizstabbertphoto.com, and went around to all places I may have the incorrect email linked to fix it. However I've continued to get email at the wrong address and couldnt figure out why....
Well, I have no idea how I missed it, but the link on my contacts page has been incorrect. The text is the correct address, but when clicked on it takes you to the incorrect "liz@stabbert.org" addy. I feel like a dolt because I've been tearing out my hair trying to figure out where these emails were coming from (I checked the contacts page at least 5 times...but missed the hyperlink).
I apologise to anyone that didn't get the prompt response they should have! By the time this post reaches every one the link will be fixed!

Happy May!
May is already gearing up to be pretty busy. Along with several portrait sessions I've got events going almost every weekend. Heres a little taste of whats happening in may:
6th- Goveners Run- Motercycle poker run.....Its also my birthday!
14th &15th -Cory's Day on the Farm- They give special needs kids a fun day of horse rides, farm animals and tractor rides! Voulunteers (and horses) are always needed so come on out to the Kitdap fairgrounds.
19th & 20th- Kitsap Saddle Club Performance and Games Playday- I'm the official photographer for the event. These shows are always a lot of fun! Performance is on Sat the 19th, Games are on Sun the 20th.
26th- Helix Rodeo- I'm heading down to OR to shoot this great roughstock event and plan to photograph the beautiful Walla Walla area scenery on my way back. I love eastern WA!
27th- Ellensburg Highschool Rodeo- this event is going on all weekend. I'm not positive if I'm making it to this one but hopefully so since I'll be passing through.
If you can make it out to any of these events, swing by and say hi!

Emerald Downs opening day!
Well I made it out for Emerald Downs racetrack's opening day. I was covering the event for photojornalism and since its been a long time since I've been to the track. I got one of the free fleece blankets they were giving away, enjoyed the horses ... I even had my caricature drawn, hey it was free, why not!
Thoroughbred horses are beautiful animals and I enjoyed having a chance to try my lens in the challenging situation of the night races. Heres a few of the shots I came away with.

All and all it was a fun time. I plan on going back sometime this summer for the day races that go on during the weekend. Maybe I'll even pick horses that win next time ;)
